Fight 1: Harley King vs Isaiah Bean – Amateur Flyweight
R1: A low kick from King gets the fight started. He throws another, which is caught by Bean who shoots for a single leg takedown. After a little work with the single leg, King winds up on the bottom. Bean passes to side control and then mounts. King works his way back to the feet but Bean continues to press and force him against the cage looking for another takedown. King reverses and sinks in a beautifully timed anaconda choke, forcing Bean to submit.

Fight 2: Tyrell Giselbrecht vs James Rice – Amateur Lightweight
R1: Giselbrecht takes the centre of the cage. A strike by Rice is countered by a clean left hook from Giselbrecht, which stuns him 10 seconds into the fight. Giselbrecht follows up with a right hand that drops Rice, and then swarms him from the top position, forcing the referee to stop the fight.

Fight 3: Sambath Khun vs Peter Janssen – Amateur Bantamweight
R1: Khun opens with two inside leg kicks and Janssen returns one of his own. Khun lands a solid body kick. Janssen throws another low kick which inadvertently connects with Khun’s groin, prompting a temporary break in the action. Khun is given a couple minutes to recover. Both fighters connect with leg kicks. Janssen connects with two right hands and follows with a takedown, landing in half guard. Khun works an armbar from the bottom and nearly has it secured, however the bell sounds to end round 1. Very close round.

R2: Both figthers take the centre of the cage. Janssen lands the first significant strike. Body kick by Khun followed by a nice counter right hand from Janssen. A second strike connects with Khun’s groin prompting another 30 second break in the action. The fight resumes and they exchange strikes, with Janssen finding a home for the right hand. He follows up with a double leg takedown and ends the round in top position.

R3: Khun opens the round with a double leg takedown, which Janssen reverses and gets back to his feet. Khun presses him against the cage working for another takedown. He carries Janssen across the cage but is unable to complete the takedown. Khun continues to work on Janssen against the cage and throws a few knees that connect. Janssen reverses and ends up in top position, where the round ends. Three close rounds.

Fight 4: Robert Kovacevic vs Malcolm Tisdale – Amateur Welterweight
R1: Kovacevic enters the cage to the Vince McMahon swagger. Tisdale lands a right hand and pressures against the cage. They wrestle to the centre of the cage before Tisdale completes a takedown. Kovacevic works back to his feet. Tisdale connects with another right hand. This time Kovacevic pressures Tisdale against the cage until Tisdale reverses. Action against the cage. Tisdale completes another takedown and works to pass to half guard. Kovacevic gets back to his feet but is slammed down by Tisdale, who lands a couple strikes at the closing bell.

R2: Tisdale continues to pressure. Kovacevic shoots for a takedown, presses Tisdale against the cage and gets him to the ground. He postures up and nearly sinks in a guillotine choke, but is reversed and Tisdale ends up on top. Tisdale mounts and Kovacevic works his way back to side control. Tisdale takes the back and secures a rear naked choke, however Kovacevic survives. Tisdale mounts again before Kovacevic escapes and works his way back to the feet. Tisdale lands a solid right hand as the bell sounds.

R3: Inside leg kick by Kovacevic. Kovacevic secures a takedown near the cage and works some body shots from the open guard. Kovacevic works a choke but is reversed and winds up on the bottom. Tisdale mounts. After a brief exchange Kovacevic again winds up on top until Tisdale gets back to his feet. The round ends with Tisdale connecting with a few strikes as Kovacevic is pressed against the cage.

Fight 5: Matt Klute vs Marcos Cromwell – Amateur 150-pound Catchweight
R1: They touch gloves. Cromwell lands two low kicks to open the round with power. Cromwell shoots for a double leg and winds up on top with Klute pressed against the cage. They stand. Another hard low kick from Cromwell, followed by another. Cromwell looks for a throw but can’t complete it and he ends up on the bottom. Klute controls from top position but is unable to pass. Crom does a good job protecting himself from the bottom to avoid any serious damage. The round ends with Klute in control on top for the final minute. Close round.

R2: A big right hand from Klute stuns Cromwell and he presses him against the cage. Cromwell reverses and works for a takedown. Good defence from Klute, however Cromwell manages to eventually complete the takedown. Cromwell controls and passes to half guard. Cromwell mounts, which is where the round ends. Good early pressure from Klute, however this round goes to Cromwell for overall cage control.

R3: Nice body kick from Klute. Cromwell lands a knee to the groin while in the scramble, prompting a temporary stop in the action. They’re back at it within a minute. A brief wrestling exchange culminates with Klute gaining top position. Klute maintains the position for a good three minutes, concluding the fight.

Fight 6: Cam Macdonald vs Nick Hrabec – 165-pound Catchweight
R1: Hrabec misses a high kick and controls the centre of the cage. He connects with a leg kick. Another head kick attempt is blocked by Macdonald. Nice front kick to the body by Hrabec. Macdonald misses with a spinning back kick. Low kick landed by Macdonald. Macdonald connects on a spinning back kick to the face! Hrabec closes the distance and presses Macdonald against the cage, continuing to lean on him and making Macdonald carry his weight. Hrabec controls the remainder of the round from this position.

R2: Hrabec connects with the first strike of the round; a solid counter left hook. He lands a leg and body kick in succession. Hrabec goes for a body lock and uses it to control Macdonald against the cage, and then bring him to the ground in side control. He mounts and controls the position for a minute before taking his back, and immediately secures a rear naked choke. Macdonald taps.

Fight 7: Kolton Menzak vs Neal Anderson – Lightweight
R1: Menzak opens the round with a leg kick. Anderson connects with a right hand to the head followed by a leg kick. Menzak lands a quick combination followed by an uppercut. Anderson connects with a right hand to the body. Menzak with another right leg kick. He’s finding a home for strikes right down the middle. Anderson connects with a three punch combination. Menzak lands an elbow in the clinch, followed by a stiff jab.

Anderson doing a better job this round, landing another combination and forcing Menzak to the cage. He connects with a high knee in the clinch and nearly secures a takedown. Another series of solid knees has Menzak wincing and still pressed against the cage. He escapes after taking two consecutive elbows.

Inside leg kick lands by Anderson, who then initiates the clinch and takes Menzak down. Anderson works to side control before Menzak escapes and returns to his feet. Anderson again controls the tempo by forcing Menzak back to the cage, who has a hard time escaping. Anderson lands a few more knees and elbows from this position. They separate and Menzak lands two head strikes. A furious tempo to finish the round.

Fight 8: Pat Pytlik vs Vyron Phillips – Welterweight Title Bout
R1: Low kick from Pytlik. They clinch and Phillips get the takedown, but Pytlik gets back to his feet immediately. Phillips presses him against the cage and secures another takedown. Again Pytlik gets back to his feet, although Phillips maintains a body lock and has his back. Phillips keeps him against the cage. Phillips relentless against the cage and makes it difficult for Pytlik to do anything other than defend. Pytlik reverses the position near the end of the round.

R2: Pytlik connects with a right hand and unleashes a series of punches and kicks that rock Phillips; the most significant strikes of the round. Phillips recovers and again forces Pytlik to the cage. He controls the wrist and continues pressing with knees to the legs and body. Pytlik reverses and they separate. This time Pytlik initiates the clinch and forces Phillips to the cage. Phillips controlling the wrist but Pytlik maintains the favourable position. Two knees to the body by Pytlik. Pytlik lands another series of strikes and controls the tempo with Phillips pressed against the cage. A head shot results in blood on the Liberty laptop!

R3: The crowd chants “Pat! Pat! Pat!” to start the round. A brief striking exchange is followed by another clinch against the fence, again with Pytlik in control. Phillips working short strikes from the cage while Pytlik continues to throw knees. Pytlik lands an uppercut from the clinch. Pytlik has now completely taken over the clinch game, where the bulk of the fight is taking place. Phillips separates and shoots for a takedown, which is stuffed by Pytlik to end the round.

R4: We enter the championship rounds. Low kick by Pytlik, right hand by Phillips. Nice combination from Phillips lands cleanly and Pytlik responds by reinitiating the clinch. Back to the cage they go with Pytlik in control again. They separate. Two left hooks from Pytlik and again they’re back against the cage. A brief separation leads to another combination by Pytlik. Pytlik takes the fight to the ground and winds up in top position. Phillips sinks in a triangle choke! Pytlik survives and Phillips transitions to an armbar, which Pytlik again escapes and gets back to his feet. One final exchange ends the round. Pytlik controls most of the round but Phillips comes close to the submission finish.

R5: They meet in the centre of the cage for round 5. After a brief exchange Pytlik drops Phillips with a head shot! He swarms him for the finish 14 seconds into the final round of a very entertaining welterweight title bout.
The winner via TKO at 14 secs of round 5 and new welterweight champion Pat Pytlik! The crowd loves it.
Teddy Ash vs Seth Baczynski – Middleweight Title Bout
R1: Big pop for Fort McMurray’s Teddy Ash! Low kick from Teddy Ash spins Baczynski around. Another leg kick lands from Ash. Big right hand from Ash drops Baczynski, who regains his composure and locks in an armbar! Ash powers his way out of it and slams Baczynski down, followed by another right hand that drops Baczynski again. Baczynski gets back to his feet and manages to secure a takedown on Ash and work from half guard against the cage. Baczynski settling in and controlling the pace against the cage. Ash drops him again! Baczynski back to his feet and landing big combinations on Ash. What a wild back and forth round!

R2: They come out swinging! Baczynski getting the better of the striking exchanges but man are these guys giving it everything they have. The crowd cheers “Teddy!” Baczynski secures a takedown and controls action from the top against the cage. He’s landing a series of short head strikes. Ash gets back to his feet and they start swinging wildly again! Baczynski forces Pytlik against the cage and works toward another takedown. Baczynski clearly in control of this round on account of the grappling exchanges.

R3: Baczynski lands a hard right hand that draws a big “oh!” from the crowd. Ash responds. Flying knee and combination from Baczynski. They are giving it everything they have! Baczynski gets another takedown and works from the same half guard position he had success with in round 2, with Ash pressed up against the cage. Another “Teddy” chant from the crowd trying to sway momentum for Ash. He remains stuck on the bottom with Baczynski now taking his back. Ash escapes and works back to half guard. Big knee by Baczynski while Ash pressed against the cage. They’re back on the feet and Ash cracks Baczynski with a body shot. Baczynski back to work against the cage with a nasty elbow before separating. Baczynski pouring it on landing a series of devastating strikes. Another crazy round!

Inside leg kick by Ash, followed by high kick and head shot that connect. Baczynski is bleeding heavily and reinitiates the clinch game successfully. Ash doing great on the breaks, landing some solid right hands. Baczynski responds with a right of his own. Baczynsk continues to control the grappling but Ash had the striking advantage in that round. What a fight!

Baczynski landing a lot of strikes from the position and nearly has his back. Ash gets back to his feet! They again trade blows. How these two are standing is beyond me. Ash lands another huge right hand! He swarms him and this time gets the finish with two seconds remaining in the fight!! Holy fucking shitballs! That might have been the best fight I’ve ever witnessed in person. Hats off to both guys, that was incredible!
