The 2014 Mercury Prize winners are back with their unique blend 0f noise, hip hop, pop, and industrial. This cut was done as part of the T2: Trainspotting soundtrack. The track features a choir which adds a transcendent sort of feel to an already tight track. Click the soundcloud player and get to it.
This will be the title track for Josh Tillman’s upcoming album set to drop in April. The sweeping folk tones and biting lyricism take on some chaotic elements within our present world. Father John Misty also included a John Cena clip which I appreciate as a wrestling fan. You can’t see John but you can see the video/ take in the pleasant sounds above.
This record drops in late-February and things keep getting more promising as each track drops. At the Drive In/The Mars Volta wizard Omar Rodríguez-López, the Melvins’ Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover serve up some big riffs as expected. A thumping bassline, driving percussion, and an eerie vocal from singer Teri Gender Bender of La Butcherettes. Not all of Omar’s projects are a home run with me but I’m digging this. Video above…..you know the drill.
