Jesse “Big Cat” Arnett spoke with LM2 as he readies himself for arguably the most important Bantamweight fight in Canadian MMA history.
Jesse will be taking on longtime-top 135er Josh Hill in a high stakes number one contender bout that goes on May 24th at TKO 48 in Gatineau, Quebec.
Bowks Talking Bouts
Jesse has a pretty comprehensive understanding of how he perceives the fight will end. Big Cat got analytical in breaking down Josh Hill’s skillset and what he needs to do to stop Hill (which you can hear in the audio provided).
Jesse also addressed his previous loss to Nate Maness. Arnett is forthcoming in saying that he got caught while out of position and tipped his hat to Maness. Also though, Big Cat made it clear that he would defeat the new TKO champion should they lock horns once more.
This hotly anticipated bout with Josh Hill is the perfect way to reassert himself amongst Bantamweights of the Great White North. This is Rick Rude against the Ultimate Warrior; who you slot in which role is dependent on who you ride with.
“Josh Hill vs Jesse Arnett….This is years in the making. When I started MMA, me and my brother both knew that was the guy to beat “
Big Cat has put a pronounced emphasis on Jiu-Jitsu training in the gi during this camp. Jesse has also been getting back in touch with his wrestling roots and adding to an already noticeable set of cauliflower ears.
Jesse Arnett’s brother Cody has been capturing all that gym work by shooting some footage of Big Cat putting in the rounds. Cody also finds time to put down the camera and roll with Jesse on the mats.
Arnett is dialed in and has laser focus towards competing against Hill on the 24th. Big Cat still found time to discuss not smoking weed ahead of fights, the rise of barekuckle boxing, and Vince McMahon chicanery.
